Manual handling may seem routine, but done incorrectly, it’s one of the most common causes of injury in rope access and other physically demanding environments. From shoulder strains to more serious dislocations, these injuries can have lasting consequences.
Stay smart, stay safe:
- Avoid manual handling where possible
- Use mechanical aids and proper lifting techniques
- Warm up before strenuous tasks
- Stop and reposition if you feel discomfort
- Never push through pain just to “get the job done faster”
Every rope access technician knows – your body is your most important tool. Take care of it.
