Rope access equipment is only as safe as the care and attention behind it. That’s why regular inspection is critical — not just for compliance, but for the safety of every technician on the ropes.

IRATA’s Topic Sheet No. 1 outlines three key types of inspection every team should follow:

  • Pre-use checks – every day, every time
  • Detailed inspections – at least every 6 months or as required
  • Interim inspections – after heavy use or specific incidents
