The IRATA Equipment and Standards Committee wishes to draw your attention to ANSI/ISEA 121-2018, the American National Standard for Dropped Object Prevention Solutions.

The Committee has reviewed this standard and considers it appropriate for rope access tool attachments and containers. IRATA recommends that members review this standard and consider its relevance to their field of rope access operations.

IRATA recognises that, while some companies manufacture products certified to ANSI/ISEA 121-2018, these products may not be available in all regions. In the absence of access to certified products, IRATA recommends that members consider the requirements of ANSI/ISEA 121-2018 when selecting rope access tool attachments and containers.

Further information is available in Topic Sheet No. 15 – Tool Lanyards [HS-095ENG], which can be found on the IRATA website ▶️https://irata.org/downloads/2250
